Copying (Cloning) an Attribute Group

Instead of creating a new attribute group, you will find it easier in some cases to copy, or clone, an existing group and change it to suit your needs.


Before you begin: You must have the Leader role to copy an attribute group.

  1. From the search field in the top bar, enter SimAttrGrp: * to search for all attribute groups.
  2. From the list of attribute groups that appears, select the group to copy.
  3. From the navigation page, select the attribute group to display its properties.
  4. From the table page toolbar, click Actions > Copy.
  5. In the Copy Attribute Group page that appears, enter the following:
    • Title: Process Composer displays the title to indicate which attribute group you are working with. You can change the title of the copied attribute group to help you distinguish between groups.
    • Revision: Enter the revision of the new attribute group. In most cases it will be the first revision in a new series.
    • Description: Enter a description that allows any user to determine the purpose of this attribute group.
    • Policy: Choose from the list of attribute group policies. See About Policies for more information.
  6. Click Done to copy the attribute group.

    Process Composer creates a copy of the attribute group and displays its attributes in the table page.

    Note: Any access rights that were granted to the original attribute group are not copied over to the new group.
