Instead of creating a new experience, you will find it easier in some cases to copy, or clone, an existing experience and change it to suit your needs. When you copy an experience, everything that is captured by the original experience, such as its simulation process, activities, and data, are also captured by the new copy. However, referenced documents continue to refer to their original documents.
The associated type and attribute group from the original experience are inherited by the new experience.
Before you begin: You must have the role of Simulation Methods Developer to copy an experience.
From the search menu in the Top Bar, enter simtemplate: * to search for your available simulation experiences.
From the list that appears, select the simulation experience that you want to copy.
The selected simulation experience appears in the navigation pane and the table page.
From the navigation pane, select the properties of the experience.
From the table page toolbar, select Actions > Copy.
In the Copy Simulation Experience page that appears, enter the following:
Title: Process Composer displays the title to indicate which experience you are working with.
You can change the title of the copied experience to help you distinguish between experiences.
Revision: Enter the revision of the new experience. In most cases it will be the first revision in a new series.
Description: Enter a description that allows any user to determine the purpose of this experience. You should describe the problem that you are attempting to answer along with the product and/or workflow you are simulating.
Policy: Choose from the list of simulation experience policies. See About Policies for more information.
Click Done to copy the experience.
Process Composer creates the new experience.
Note:
Any access rights that were granted to the original simulation experience are not copied over to the new experience.
