About Synchronization Using Batch Process

Batch process synchronization lets you run the synchronization process in the background, while you work on other tasks in the session.

Running Synchronization Batch Using the Batch Monitor

It is recommended to use the batch process synchronization for large structure systems to gain a performance advantage.

The Monitoring of Synchronization panel displays the progress of the synchronization.

You can click at any time to cancel the synchronization. All the synchronized objects so far get deleted after canceling the synchronization.

When the batch process is finished, the synchronized objects are automatically saved. You must reopen the target product to display the synchronized objects.

A report of the synchronization is also generated. You can click or to open the report. The report is saved at the location specified in Me > Preferences > Common Preferences > Deployment and Administration > Batch > Directory for batches logs and temp files.

Note: If the generated report has errors or warnings, is displayed.

Important:
  • During the batch process, you must not modify any object which is being synchronized.
  • You must not simultaneously initiate multiple batch processes for the same Structure Functional Design object.
  • If you close the session during synchronization, the batch process still continues and saves the result of the synchronization.
  • Rerouting on the ON BOUNDARY limiting objects is not performed during the batch synchronization. You must re-synchronize the object for which rerouting is needed.
