Creating a Contour for Chamfer

This task shows you how to create contours for chamfers.

  1. From the top bar, select Add > Content.
  2. In the New Content panel, under Structure, select Structure Opening .
  3. Sketch the contour in Sketcher.


  4. Add the following two parameters in the sketch:

    • Priv_Comp_VL: Length in V direction
    • Priv_Comp_HL: Length in H direction

    The values of these parameters are computed automatically using an action rule.

    You can also define additional public parameters to control the size of the contour. Use the "Pub_" prefix to these parameters to display them in the Chamfer dialog box.

    The contour is positioned as follows:

    If the top/bottom face and the vertical contact face of the plate are not perpendicular to each other, you can define the Pub_Angle parameter in the contour sketch to modify the angle as required and thus to position the chamfer properly as shown below:

    Vertical contact face: The vertical face of the target plate in contact with the adjacent plate.
