You can create structure plates from the split plate features.

Before you begin: Open a structure that has seamed panels.

  1. From the Operation section of the action bar, click Expose Split Plate .
  2. In the Selected Objects box, select the root product, a physical product, or dedicated panels.

When you select a physical product, all the panels available under the selected product are taken into account and listed in the Expose Split Plate dialog box.

  3. Optional: Filter the panels using panel name, state, or geometry status.
  4. Click Show preferences to set the preferences for geometry generation and attributes synchronization.

Geometry No Does not generate geometries for split plates, under the structure plates. If there are any previous geometries, they are removed.

The Declared Characteristics and Declared Weight extensions are added to the structure plates, to add the center of gravity and weight attributes to the plates.

Yes Generates geometries for the split plates. If there are any previous geometries, they are removed and new geometries are generated.

The existing Declared Characteristics and Declared Weight extensions, if any, are removed.

Attribute Synchronization Rule Click or to select a synchronization action rule.

You can insert the attribute synchronization rule in Rules Catalog or Rules Library, or in any other catalog/library. See Attribute Synchronization Action Rule.

Synchronizes the user-defined attributes of the structure plate with the corresponding attributes of the split plate.

The attributes related to the geometry of the plate are synchronized without any synchronization rule.

Conditions for Changes Use the and buttons to specify the attributes for comparison. Defines the criteria for comparison between the structure plates and their corresponding split plates.

The attributes available under Attributes to Compare are compared between the structure plates and their corresponding split plates.

If the values of any attributes do not match between a structure plate and its split plate, the structure plate is taken into account for the update.

  5. Select the required panel rows and click Compute .

The State and Geometry columns are updated with the following statuses:

    Column Status Description Action
State New The structure panel is new and the structure plates are not generated for its split plates. The panel is taken into account for the operation and structure plates are generated.
Up to date There are no changes in the panel after the structure plates were generated. No action.
Modified The split plates are modified after the structure plates were generated. The panel is taken into account for the operation and the structure plates whose split plates were modified, are updated.

Old geometries are removed and new geometries are generated, if the Geometry option is selected.

The attributes of the structure plates are updated.

If some split plates were removed, the corresponding structure plates are removed.

Geometry None The structure plates do not have geometries for split plates. -
Exist The structure plates have geometries for split plates. -
Note: The Geometry and Attribute Synchronization Rule options update all structure plates, irrespective of their status.

  6. Click Expose Split Plate .
The structure plates are generated for the split plates of the selected panels.
    • During the operation, you can press Esc anytime to stop the operation.
    • After the operation is finished, you can click Open the HTML report to generate and open the detailed report of the operation.
