Using Common Geometry Reference

You can use the Common Geometry Reference resource, set in the Common Geometry Resources, in the product.

Before you begin: Create a reference plane system in the Space Referential app and assign it in the Common Geometry Reference resource of Common Geometry Resource table in Data Setup.
  1. In the top bar, select Add > Content.
The New Content dialog box appears, listing the Favorites, the Most Recently Used objects and various categories. For more information about creating a new object, see 3DEXPERIENCE Native Apps: Creating New Objects.
  2. Select Physical Product.

Note: If you select the Set attributes at creation contextual option, an additional dialog box opens if the creation requires specific attributes to be defined.

  3. Specify the necessary details such as a title and a design range, and click OK.

Important: The Structure Design app supports normal and large ranges only.

  4. To add the reference plane system to the product, you can either:
    1. Right-click the product node in the tree and select Insert > Existing 3D Part.
    2. In the Search box, type the name of reference plane system that you have already created.
      The search results are displayed.
    3. Select the part.

    or

    1. From the Grid section of the action bar, click Insert CGR .
The Create Project Data dialog box appears. It lists all the reference planes systems assigned to the Common Geometry Reference and Secondary Geometry References in the Data Setup.
    2. Select the required reference plane system and click OK.
The reference plane system is placed under the product in the tree. The reference planes are available for creating structural objects.
