Selecting 3D References

You can select an Expected 3D Reference for a physical object in the Equipment or the Electrical Device tabs.

About the Logical to Physical Assistant
  1. In the Logical to Physical Assistant panel, select the rows for which you want to select an Expected 3D Reference.
  2. Click Set 3D Reference .
    A new panel appears above the action bar and displays the information of the selected rows.
  3. Select one of the following options:
    OptionDescription
    Select from Part List

    Selects the 3D reference among a list of candidates based on the predefined part number of the logical object.

    Select from Database

    Searches the 3D reference using the top bar or the work area.

    Available if you select Search in Database. For more information, see Selecting the Objects to Analyze Using the Logical to Physical Assistant.

    Select from Catalog

    Searches the 3D reference in a catalog using the Catalog Browser.

    Available if you select Search in Catalog. For more information, see Selecting the Objects to Analyze Using the Logical to Physical Assistant.

    Select from Library

    Searches the 3D reference in a library using the Library Browser.

    Available if you select Search in Library. For more information, see Selecting the Objects to Analyze Using the Logical to Physical Assistant.

  4. Select the 3D reference:

    • From the part list, in the panel, select the 3D reference of interest.
    • From the database, in the top bar, search a 3D reference of type physical product, and select the 3D reference of interest. You can also click a 3D reference in the tree or in the work area directly.
    • From the catalog, in the Catalog Browser, select the catalog of interest, and select the 3D reference of your choice.
    • From the library, in the Library Browser, select the library of interest, and select the 3D reference of your choice.

    The icon on the right side of the panel indicates if your selection is valid:
    Icon Description

    Defines the selected 3D reference as the Expected 3D Reference of your physical object.

    Indicates that the 3D reference you selected is invalid. Select another 3D reference until you see Set 3D Reference .

  5. Click Set 3D Reference .
    The information in the panel is updated to display the new Expected 3D Reference. A appears next to the value.
