Creating a Text

You can create texts in complex views and manage them efficiently.

Create a Text

  1. From the Smart Annotation section of the action bar, click Text .
  2. In the Text dialog box, click Catalog Browser and select a template.

    Tip: In the Catalog Browser , you can double-click a template to select it.
    The template chapter is saved as preference for next time usage.

    The template is selected and the Annotation list displays the type.

    The representation or content of the annotation depends on the designed template and the parameters defined in the template.

  3. In the view, click at the required location to create the text.

    You can create multiple texts by clicking at the multiple locations.

  4. From the Display mode list, select a mode.

    You can switch where the targeted objects are displayed, or switch to the initial value of the template text.

  5. Under Text Information, right-click a text and select Select target object for text.
    The link templates are resolved using the newly selected target object.
  6. Under Link Template Info, right-click a text and select Route To to route it to a 3D object.

    You can view the object in 3D. Right-click a text and select View in 3D.

  7. Under Text Layout, specify the required parameters to position the text.

Note: If Parallel to object is selected from the Alignment list, an orientation link is created between the selected geometric element and the instantiated text.

In such cases, the text orientation changes if the geometry is a curve. The text orientation depends on the tangent direction at the point on the curve which is closest to the text position.

Create Multiple Texts

You can create multiple texts and position them at the selected location.

  1. In the Text dialog box, under Text Layout, select Auto positioning mode from the Positioning list.
  2. Select several objects.
    All the texts are created and positioned automatically.
    Tip: You can select the generated items one after another and the text is directly created at the selected location.
