Copying and Pasting a Scenario

You can copy a scenario from a behavior experience, paste it into the same behavior experience, and modify the conditions, such as excitations. If your changes are minor, it is more convenient to copy, paste, and modify a scenario compared with creating a new, empty scenario and reapplying the conditions.

You can also copy/paste a scenario from a behavior experience to another behavior experience, provided that they are applied to the same model.

Notes:
  • You can also copy/paste excitations and probes between scenarios in the same experiment (simulation object). See Copying and Pasting Excitations and Probes between Scenarios.
  • Since excitations and probes are by default shared, and easy to add when creating a new scenario (without any copying and pasting), it may still be as convenient to create a new scenario than copying and pasting an existing one. If you however have a scenario that contains excitations and probes that are local, for such a scenario it is still probably most convenient to use copy and paste of the scenario to create a new similar one.

For general information about copy/paste, see 3DEXPERIENCE Native Apps:Cutting and Pasting Objects.

  1. To copy a scenario, do the following:
    1. From the tree, select the scenario to copy.
    2. Right-click and select Copy (or press Ctrl+C).
  2. To paste a scenario, do the following:
    1. From the tree, select a scenario.
    2. Right-click and select Paste (or press Ctrl+V).
The scenario is pasted into the Scenario category, with a new name.

The new scenario refers to the same objects as the original. In addition, this new scenario contains the same objects as the original, such as initial conditions. Any sharing is kept. You can make changes to the new scenario, such as changing an initial condition, and compute new results.

Note: The simulation setup parameters are specific for each scenario, so you can change those for the new scenario as well if needed.
