Installing the Edition Component

This task describes how to install the edition component.

Before you begin:

You must have the following software on your server:

  • Java JDK
  • Tomcat server
For more information concerning required software configurations, see the appropriate Program Directory at http://media.3ds.com/support/progdir/all (Deployment: Server Hardware & Software).

  1. Copy the installer on the installation server.
  2. To install the component:

    Windows
    Execute the setup.exe file.
    Linux
    Execute the StartGui.sh script.

    The setup program starts and the welcome dialog box is displayed.

    Click Next to move to the next step.

  3. Choose the installation directory and click Next.
  4. Select CATIA System Experience Validation Edition to install the corresponding component and click Next.
  5. Select the server installation directory and click Next.
  6. Define the creator user name and password and click Next.
  7. Clear the Update the database during the installation check box and click Next.
  8. Define the administrator name and password and click Next.
  9. Select the JDK or JRE path and click Next.
    A summary appears.
  10. Click Install.
    The component is now installed.
  11. Click Close to finish the installation.
  12. If your platform is Linux64 and you want to execute experiences in Linux32, enter the following command lines in a console:
    1. To downgrade the 64-bit version:

      yum downgrade glibc glibc-common glibc-devel glibc-headers

    2. To install the 32-bit version, which is equivalent to the 64-bit version:

      yum install glibc-devel.i686

  13. Run the WAR Utility and deploy the app.
