About Scenario Documents

You can insert scenario documents in your experience. These scenario documents are seen as instances and are interpreted as an action sequence performed in time.

A scenario document is an .xls or .xlsx file with one or more sheets. Each sheet corresponds to a scenario and contains the following columns: time, variable, initial value, delta, and reachable value.

File Description

Each column of the .xls or .xlsx file is defined as follows:

Column Description

Time

Corresponds to a real value in seconds.

Variable

Is subject to the doted notation such as follows: the variable is defined by the instance name, followed by the groups and subgroup names if exist, and the variable name.

Example: Calculator.in.inputA

The instances already inserted in the experience indicate if the variable is of In or Out type and provide information about the variable type.

Initial value

Corresponds to the variable value.

If the variable is produced by the scenario, the value is the produced value. If the variable is an input variable of the scenario, the value is the tested value.

For a Boolean variable, the value can be defined as 0/1 or FALSE/TRUE.

Delta

If a delta and reachable values are defined in the file, they correspond to the value to reach after delta seconds.

Instance Creation

You can drag a scenario document into the experience to create an instance. Its ports are created according to the instances already available in the experience at a given level.

Automatic Connection

You can right-click the instance and select Create Links from the context toolbar. Links between the scenario document and the other instances are automatically created.

Refresh

If the experience changes after the scenario document insertion, you need to update the scenario document. For that purpose, you can right-click the instance and select Refresh Selected Model from the context toolbar.

Execution

Each row of a sheet is a command to be executed at a given time. This command can be a variable setting or a variable testing.

The execution switches to pause mode as soon as the execution of the last scenario document ends. The last scenario document corresponds to the scenario, which stops the latest.
