Creating a Structure System

You can create a structure system.

Before you begin: Assign the Common Reference System, Secondary Geometry References, and Common Reference Surface resources in Common Geometry Resource resource table in Data Setup. For more information, see Available Resources in Common Geometry Resource.
  1. In the top bar, select Add > Content.
The New Content dialog box appears, listing the Favorites, the Most Recently Used objects and various categories. For more information about creating a new object, see 3DEXPERIENCE Native Apps: Creating New Objects.
  2. Expand the Structure category.
    The list contains:
    • Structure Contour
    • Structure Design Unit
    • Structure Endcut
    • Structure Opening
    • Structure Section
    • Structure Slot
    • Structure System
  3. Optional: Right-click Structure System and select Set attributes at creation to define specific attributes during the creation of the structure system.
  4. Click Structure System .
    The Structure System dialog appears.
  5. In the Structure System tab, specify the following:
    1. Enter the required title.
    2. Select the design range.

Important: The Structure Functional Design app supports normal and large ranges only.

  6. Click the Create Project Data tab and select the required reference plane system from the Reference list.

The list contains all the reference planes systems assigned in Data Setup. By default, the reference plane system assigned to Common Reference System resource is selected.

  7. Click OK.
A new structure system is created. You can notice the structure system icon in the tree. The project data is also created. The node (identified as Project Data.x) is added to the tree. All the Structure Functional Design commands are available.

Warning: If the Common Reference System is not assigned to the Data Setup, a warning message appears, stating that ensure to assign the common geometry reference to Data Setup. When you click OK, a structure system is created without a project data.
