Generate a Regular View
You can generate a regular front view with or without using a GVS file.
- From the Drafting section of the action bar, click Structure Drafting Wizard .
-
Under View Specification:
- Select the Insert new drawing representation check box, to generate the drawing under a new drawing representation.
If not selected, you need to specify the target drawing representation for the drawing.
- Select the standard and the format for the drawing.
If you have selected an existing drawing representation, the standard and the format are automatically selected from a sheet of that representation.
- Specify the scale for the drawing.
- In the Geometry box, select a planar surface or a plane, or specify the values in the X, Y, and Z boxes to set the view direction.
When you select a planar surface or a plane in the work area, the X, Y, and Z boxes are updated to specify the direction normal to the selected surface. You can modify these values to change the direction.
In the Angle box, you can enter the value from 0 to 359 to change the orientation of the view in the counterclockwise direction on the drawing sheet.
- Select the GVS file.
- Select the Insert new drawing representation check box, to generate the drawing under a new drawing representation.
- Optional: Under Objects to Draw, select the Use bounding box check box to use the bounding box.
The bounding box appears in the 3D area with its center at the COG of the root product and it includes all the products.
You can modify the bounding box using the handles shown on each face in the 3D area, or specifying the width, length, and height values in the dialog box. All the objects included or intersected with the bounding box are considered for the drawing generation.
