Retrieving and Applying a Saved Filter

You can retrieve a saved filter then apply it to a structure. When you view a retrieved filter, it shows the filter criteria, not the filter results. You can apply the retrieved filter to a structure to filter it.

Before you begin: Select a single root object whose structure you want to refine, then open the filter pane. For more information, see User Interface: Filter Commands.
  1. In the Filter specification pane, click Open a filter of <Object Name>.
    All filters for this root object are listed in the 3DSearch results.
  2. Select a filter.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Click Apply.

The structure is refined using the retrieved filter criteria.

Tip: In some apps, you can also drag a filter from the 3DSearch results then drop it over the Add object in context area of the app to display the filtered structure. A filter applied to a structure this way is lost after a browser refresh.
