Importing a File

You can import a model, or a 3DXML file from your local disk drive and generate the 3D representation. You can also attach Collada archive (.zae) files for representations of source Import Details. Non archived Collada (.dae) files are not supported.

Required access roles: Author, Leader

  1. View the Pack Manager.
  2. In the Import menu, click Local .
    The File Selection dialog box appears.
    Note: Fields in the File Selection dialog box are different for the RepSource selected as Import Initial and Import Details. For more information, see Source of a Representation and Levels of Details of a Representation.

    Import Initial Initial Model: Click Browse to select a 3D model from the local disk drives.
    Import Details
    • High Resolution Model
    • Medium Resolution Model
    • Low Resolution Model
    • Very Low Resolution Model

    By default, the fields take the existing name of the level of details from the database. If name of a level of detail is not imported, the field corresponding to that level of detail remains empty. Click Browse associated to each field to select a 3D model from the local disk drives.

    Select the Delete the Model check box associated to a field to delete that level of detail.

  3. Click Load.
    The selected files are imported and attached to the respective level of details.
    Note: In the Display menu, you can change the level of details of representation to review the changes. For more information, see Changing the Levels of Details.
  4. In the page toolbar, click Save to save the files.
