Managing Product Representations

You can manage product representations to ensure that they comply with how you want to display the products in a store. A representation can only be associated with one product, but a product can be associated with several representations.

Required access roles: Author, Leader

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin:
  • From the Products tab, click the product.
  • Select Representations.

Create a Representation

You can create a representation to associate it with a product.

  1. Click Actions > Create Representation.
    The Create Representation slide-in panel appears.
  2. Enter details about the representation.

  3. Click Done.
    The representation is created, and associated with the product.

Add a Representation

You can add representations that are not already associated with a different product.

  1. In the page toolbar, click Add Representation.
    The search page appears.
  2. Filter the search results and select a representation to add.
  3. Click OK.
    The representation is added, and associated with the product.

Remove a Representation

You can unlink a representation from a product.

  1. Select the representation to remove.
  2. Click Actions > Remove.
    A message appears.
  3. Click OK.
    The representation is no longer associated with the product. It can be associated with another product.

Clone a Representation

You can clone a representation to duplicate an existing representation of a product, and modify it.

  1. Select the representation to duplicate.
  2. Click Actions > Clone Representation.
    A slide-in panel appears.
  3. Enter a different title for the new representation.
  4. Click Done.
    The representation is cloned, and associated with the product.

Clone a Revision of a Representation

You can clone any revision of a product representation.

  1. Click a representation in the table.
    The Properties page appears.
  2. Click Revisions.
    The Revisions page appears. This page displays the revisions of the representation.
  3. Select a revision.
    The Properties page appears again.
  4. Click Clone.
    A slide-in panel appears.
  5. Enter details about the representation (title and description).
  6. Click Done.
    The revision is cloned, and appears in the table.

Note: Thumbnails, images, and 3D models (levels of details) are duplicated.

Create Folded Representations from an Existing Representation

You can create several folded representations from an existing representation.

  1. View the Representations page of a Product.
  2. Select the required representations.
  3. In the page toolbar, select Actions > Create Folded Representations.
    The Select the folding Types page appears.
  4. Select a folding type.
  5. Click Submit.

All folded representations are created.
