Abaqus Study

Abaqus Study lets you configure and run Abaqus/Standard and Abaqus/Explicit analyses on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

When you use Abaqus Study, you can leverage the power of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to manage your simulation data, collaborate across your organization, and view the results of your analyses using high-performance visualization apps.

Analysts can use Abaqus Study to run an Abaqus® input file that they previously defined using a different application.

Abaqus Study is a dashboard app that helps you:

  • Share results with colleagues and managers.
  • Save results as a simulation object that you can view with 3DPlay or Physics Simulation Review—lightweight browser-based apps that you can open from a mobile device.
  • View the same simulation object with Physics Results Explorer. Physics Results Explorer uses parallel processing to take advantage of high-performance, multicore systems to process the results of large finite element simulations.
  • Provide traceability by allowing you to save versions of your data along with a description of each version.

When you create an analysis using Abaqus Study, the app creates a simulation study on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. A simulation study is a simulation process that stores your content, jobs, and results. Abaqus Study also includes the full functionality of Abaqus, such as the ability to use include files and to run user subroutines. Depending on your role, you might be able to use Abaqus Study to configure and run custom jobs in addition to Abaqus jobs.

The data you save in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform is managed in a collaborative space. A collaborative space is an area where people with different job functions in your organization can work together to produce and deliver content.
