Specifying Output

You can define section planes for viewing your results and request output for key performance indicators that are important for your results analysis.

Define Section Planes

  1. From the Antenna Placement section of the action bar, click Output .
  2. From the Sections section, click to add a section plane to the list.
    A new row appears at the bottom of the table of existing section planes.
  3. In the new row, select a Fixed Angle type.
    OptionDescription
    Phi Angle that sweeps from the +Z direction to the +X direction.
    Theta Angle that sweeps from the +X direction to the +Y direction.

    Use the image below as a frame of reference.

  4. Enter a value for the fixed angle in degrees.
  5. Click OK.

Delete Section Planes

  1. From the Antenna Placement section of the action bar, click Output .
  2. From the Sections section, click the Value (deg) cell of the unwanted section plane.
  3. Click .
    The row disappears from the table.
  4. Click OK.

Request Output for Key Performance Indicators

  1. From the Antenna Placement section of the action bar, click Output .
  2. From the Performance indicators section, select the key performance indicators (KPIs) for which you want to request output.

    Clearing nonessential KPIs can improve the run time of your simulation.

  3. Optional: If you selected Coverage Efficiency (%), click and do the following in the dialog box that appears:
    1. Enter a value for the Threshold, which is the gain used to determine the coverage efficiency.

      Sectors of the far-field sphere that have a gain above the threshold increase the coverage efficiency.

    2. Optional: From the Sector section, select a range from the Angular range options:

      Option Description
      All Represents the entire far-field sphere.
      Custom Represents a range of the far-field sphere that you specify.
      Front, Back, Left, Right, Top, Bottom Represents the part of the far-field sphere that aligns with the corresponding global direction (that is, +X, -X, +Y, -Y, +Z, -Z, respectively).

    3. If you selected Custom from the Angular range options, specify the range using Phi and Theta.

      Use the image below as a frame of reference.

    4. Click OK.
      Antenna Placement updates the parameters for calculating the coverage efficiency.
  4. Click OK.
