Viewing Radiation Patterns

You can view radiation patterns to show the variation of antenna far-field directivity in several predefined section planes.

Before you begin: Run at least one simulation, as described in Running a Simulation.

About Radiation Patterns
  1. From the Antenna Placement section of the action bar, click Radiation Patterns .
The dialog box that appears displays the radiation patterns for each coverage test that you successfully simulated. Antenna Placement uses distinct colors paired with a legend to help you distinguish which plot belongs to each coverage test.
  2. From the Section options, select one of the following:
    OptionDescription
Phi = 0 Displays the far-field directivity on the X-Z plane.
Phi = 90 Displays the far-field directivity on the Y-Z plane.
Theta = 90 Displays the far-field directivity on the X-Y plane.

The list also includes any user-defined section planes. To define your own section plane, see Define Section Planes.

  3. Optional: Click a coverage test's toggle to hide or display the coverage test's radiation patterns.
  4. Optional: Use the pointer to hover over a curve and display the curve's value at that location.
