  1. From the Response Variables section of the action bar, click Displacement Response Variable .
  2. Optional: Enter a descriptive Name.
  3. Select the geometry support in the model.

    You can select a point.

  4. Select the step or load case that contains the loading to use for calculation.
  5. From the Direction options, select one of the following:
    OptionDescription
Any Measures the magnitude of the total displacement.
Specified Measures the displacement in the directions according to the feature triad.
  6. Depending on your choice in the previous step, enter the Magnitude or the Minimum and Maximum displacement values.
  7. Optional: Select Use absolute value to use the absolute value of the displacement.
  8. From the Axis system definition options, select one of the following:
    OptionDescription
Global Aligns the local feature triad with the global coordinate system.
Local Aligns the local feature triad with a selected axis system in the model. If you select this axis system, you must also specify whether the axis system is Cartesian or Cylindrical.
Specify Orients the local feature triad directly. Right-click the feature triad glyph on the model, and select an orientation tool.
  9. Click OK.
