Creating Stiffness Response Variables

You can create a stiffness response variable to measure the model stiffness throughout the study.

Response Variables Manager
  1. From the Response Variables section of the action bar, click Stiffness Response Variable.
  2. Optional: Enter a descriptive Name.
  3. From the Type options, select one of the following:
    OptionDescription
    Strain energy Computes stiffness by the sum of the elastic or strain energy in the specified region.

    Energy stiffness measure

    Computes stiffness accounting for prescribed displacements.
  4. Select the Loading.

    You define the loading by selecting a step or load case that is used to compute the stress. The default is all load cases.

  5. Click OK.
