Customizing FEM Naming and Quality Options in the Automated FEM Application

You can customize the options in the Automated FEM application to change the default prefix for FEM names and to change the default behavior for checking the element quality.

Correcting Finite Element Model Problems
  1. From the Automated FEM section of the action bar, click Automated FEM .
    The Automated FEM panel appears.
  2. Click .
    The Options panel appears.
  3. Adjust the default prefix for FEM names by doing the following:
    1. From the Options tree, click FEM Name Prefix.
    2. From the FEM Name Prefix options, click Custom.
    3. Select Product name to include the product name in the prefix of the FEM name, select String, and enter a custom string to include an additional custom word or phrase in the prefix of the FEM name.
  4. Adjust the default element quality checks by doing the following:
    1. From the Options tree, click Quality.
    2. From the Quality analysis options, select Choose a specific quality criteria set.
    3. To select a quality criteria from a template, select a template type from the list.
    4. To select a quality criteria from the database, click Database browser, and then search for the criteria set from the top bar.
  5. Click OK.
