Process Experience Studio

Process Experience Studio lets you create a template based on a simulation process and customize the user interface that a simulation analyst sees when they instantiate the template in the Performance Study app.

This app is suitable for methods developers (that is, simulation experts) who want to capture company-wide best practices and make them available to other users in the form of a simulation process template. For example, a methods developer can create a simulation process that captures a workflow. They can then use Process Experience Studio to design a simulation template based on the workflow. A wider audience of users can then use Performance Study to open the simulation template, make changes within the specified limits, and run a new simulation process.

Process Experience Studio provides you with a set of elements to configure the user interface (UI) for a simulation template. You can create the following UI elements:

  • Graphics elements, such as text headings and separators
  • Text input elements, such as text fields and date selectors
  • Value elements, such as sliders and drop-down lists
  • Logical elements, such as check boxes

When you create the user interface for the simulation template in Process Experience Studio, you decide which UI elements to expose to the simulation analyst when the simulation analyst instantiates the template in Performance Study. In addition, you decide which elements require a value and which default values the simulation analyst can modify.

After you create a simulation template, the simulation analyst can use Performance Study to do the following:

  • Instantiate the template to run a new simulation process.
  • Modify attributes of the resulting simulation process.
  • Run the simulation process.
  • Make engineering decisions based on the results returned by the simulation process, and repeat the process of modifying the attributes and running the simulation process, as required.
