Three types of fan are available: fan boundary conditions, fan interfaces, and internal fans.
Each type is suited to a particular workflow or use case as follows:
- Fan boundary conditions enable you to simulate the effects of an intake or exhaust fan.
These features are applied to surfaces of the fluid domain and do not require any additional
3D geometry.
- Fan interfaces model the effects of a fan placed at a surface within the model.
- Internal fans model the effects of a fan using a 3D part within the model. The 3D parts
you use as fans are typically simple cylinders that resemble fans. You should not use a 3D
part that includes the actual mechanism of the fan, such as its motor or fan blades.
