Defining a Fluid Domain
  1. From the Zones section of the action bar, click Body Force .
  2. Optional: Customize the default Name for the feature.
  3. Select the fluid regions to which you want to apply a body force.
  4. Enter the magnitude of the force vector in the X-, Y-, and Z-directions.

You can use a single uniform value, spatially-varying mapped data, or a JavaScript user subroutines that defines the value programmatically.

The directions are interpreted in relation to the orientation of the local feature triad.

  5. Optional: Select an Axis system definition representing the local feature triad.

    • Global: Aligns the local feature triad with the global coordinate system.

    • Local: Aligns the local feature triad with a selected axis system in the model.

    • Specify: Orient the local feature triad directly by right-clicking the feature triad glyph on the model and selecting an orientation tool.

  6. Optional: Click , then specify a scale factor and amplitude for the body force.
    OptionDescription
Scale factor A multiplier that is applied to the magnitude of the value in the step.
Amplitude Name of the amplitude curve that defines the magnitude of the value during the step.
  7. Click OK.
