Defining a Rigid Body Torque

You can apply torque on a rigid body in a flow simulation.

Before you begin: Enable rigid body motion for the solid physics, and define a rigid body section on at least one solid section of your model. For more information, see Defining the Solid Physics of a Flow Simulation.

Defining Rigid Body Section Properties
  1. From the Loads section of the action bar, click Rigid Body Torque .
  2. Optional: Enter a descriptive Name.
  3. Select the geometry Support in the model.
  4. Specify the three Component values of the force vector about the 1-, 2-, and 3-direction.
  5. Specify the Axis system definition to align the rigid body force with a different axis system.
    OptionDescription
    Global The global axis system.
Local A local axis system specified as a component of the part definition. You can select the triad for the local axis system by clicking it in the 3D area. If no local axis system is available, you must define one in a part definition app.
Specify Orient the vector directly by right-clicking the feature triad glyph on the model and selecting an orientation tool.
  6. Optional: Apply a Scale factor and Amplitude to the rigid body torque magnitude.
  7. Click OK.
