Showing and Hiding Meshes in the 3D Area

You can show the meshes of a finite element model (FEM) representation, and you can also hide these meshes. Showing the meshes in the 3D area allows you to visualize and inspect the quality of your FEM representation. Hiding the meshes allows you to focus on details of your model and scenario.

In addition to the methods discussed on this page, you can hide and show meshes using the following options:

You can use the Feature Manager and the Mesh Part Manager to view or change the visibility status of all meshes within an active FEM representation. For more information, see Feature Manager or Mesh Part Manager.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin: Create a FEM representation.

Show Meshes in the 3D Area

  1. From the standard area of the action bar, click Update .

Tip: You can also access Update from the Assistant, if applicable.

  2. If the 3D area does not display the meshes, do the following:
    1. Press F3 to display the tree.
    2. From the tree, expand your FEM representation, right-click Nodes and Elements, and click Hide/Show .
