About Beams

Beam creates a simple massless beam with a predefined cross section.

Creating a Beam

A massless beam models the linear deformation of a beam without considering the internal dynamics due to inertia effects of the beam (Timoshenko approach). Therefore, the beam describes a force element that provides the static restoring loads of the beam.

The beam is described by two markers as supports, a circular or hollow circular cross-section, and linear elastic properties.
