In a PIM or MIM simulation, a metal or ceramic in fine powder form is mixed with polymer binder material, then heated above the melting temperature of the binder to create an injectable material. You can specify the size of the metal or ceramic particles and their concentration in the injectable material. Both the size and the concentration contribute to the particle concentrations in the final part, and particle concentrations can in turn determine the likelihood of undesirable "black line" defects in the part. |
