-
From the Durability section of the action bar, click Weld Fillet Set
.
- Optional:
Enter a descriptive
Name.
-
In the Support box, specify the location of the weld
fillet set.
-
From the Weld line filter options, select
None to choose the entire location specified in the
Support box, or select Specify
to refine the location you want to analyze.
-
Specify the Weld line split angle, which determines how
long weld lines with kinks in them are split into separate segments.
-
From the Structural stress source options, select one of
the following:
Option | Description |
---|
Auto detect |
Detects the structural stress source automatically. |
Stress extrapolation |
Extrapolates stress based on hot spots. |
Stress linearization |
Determines stress values using the stress linearization technique.
|
-
If you chose Auto detect as the Structural
stress source, specify a Stress extrapolation
threshold as well.
-
If you chose Stress extrapolation as the
Structural stress source, do the following:
-
Specify the Hotspot type. You can detect
hotspots automatically or specify that the hotspots are of type A or
type B.
-
For automatic detection of hotspots, specify the Type A
cut-off thickness and the Mesh
granularity.
-
For type A hotspots, specify the Type A
thickness and the Reference
points.
-
For type B hotspots, specify the Reference point
locations.
-
Review the default settings of all remaining parameters in the
Safety Factors section and in the Static
Parameters and Fatigue Parameters tabs,
and adjust them as you require. If you change a parameter that the app
propagated from the previous FKM assessment, the dialog box flags its field to
indicate the edited parameter.
-
Click OK.
