Create a PINS File
This topic describes how to create the first PINS file in 3DEXPERIENCE.
- From the simulations panel, right-click a completed PowerFLOW analysis case.
-
Hover over
Open With and select PowerINSIGHT.
An interactive session of PowerINSIGHT opens.
-
In PowerINSIGHT, create a content template.
- Create a content template from an existing template:
- Select File > New Project from Template.
- From the list, create a copy of an existing content template (for example, Aerodynamics - Soiling) and click OK.
- Modify the content template so it generates only the content you need.
- Create a content template from scratch by capturing scenes in a PowerVIZ project and loading them into a PowerVIZ content source.
PowerINSIGHT creates a new content template. - Create a content template from an existing template:
-
Create a content view (by selecting Create > Content View) and
add the content you want to save to 3DEXPERIENCE. Because the content does not yet exist, these are placeholders.
You can also save content after it has been generated (see Save Content).
-
Create and set up a new run node.
- Create and set up the run node manually:
- Select Create > Run Node.
- Specify the required input for the run node (simulation object, run template, and at least one content template).
- Set up the Experience Content subtab.
- Use one of the automatic run templates to automatically create a run node during postprocessing:
- From the Library tab, select one of the automatic run templates (for example, PowerFLOW Auto Create Content) and select Edit.
- In the run template editor, specify the required input. You must select at least one content template.
- Set up the Experience Content subtab.
PowerINSIGHT creates a new run node. - Create and set up the run node manually:
-
Select File > Save Project to 3DEXPERIENCE.
The Save Project to 3DEXPERIENCE dialog box opens.
-
In the dialog box, click the plus icon to create a simulation object.
PowerINSIGHT saves PINS files as Physics Simulation objects. The Simulation Project Files section of the dialog box lists the saved PINS files.
-
Enter a name for the simulation object and click OK.
The Save Project to 3DEXPERIENCE dialog box shows the name of the simulation object you just created.
-
Enter a name for the PINS file and click Save.
PowerINSIGHT saves the PINS file under the specified name.
You are now ready to generate content.
