Viewing PowerFLOW Results

You can start an interactive session of PowerVIZ to visualize the results of a PowerFLOW simulation.

After setting up a PowerVIZ project, you can save lightweight content to the Physics Simulation object. You can view this content in a 3DDashboard using Physics Simulation Review.

Use the Sessions tab in Simulation Manager to view information about your interactive sessions. You can have a maximum of four interactive sessions open at one time.

Before you begin: Run a PowerFLOW simulation.

  1. From the simulations panel, right-click a completed PowerFLOW analysis case.
  2. Hover over Open With and select PowerVIZ.
An interactive session of PowerVIZ opens.
  3. To create a new PowerVIZ project for the analysis case associated with the interactive session, select File > New Project.

To create a new project for a different analysis case, select File > New Project from 3DEXPERIENCE. You can use this functionality to compare different simulation results.

The New Project dialog box opens.
  4. Create a new project by selecting the CDI and measurement files saved to 3DEXPERIENCE. Click the ... next to each field to search for the relevant input file.
The project opens in the PowerVIZ viewer.
  5. Add viz items (such as slices, isosurfaces, and streamlines) to best visualize the results.

For more information about adding viz items, see the PowerVIZ User's Guide.

  6. When you are satisfied with the visualization, select File > Export > 3DEXPERIENCE.
The Save to 3DEXPERIENCE dialog box opens.
  7. Select the scenes you want to save.
  8. Click Save to 3DEXPERIENCE.
PowerVIZ saves lightweight visualization content to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
  9. In PowerVIZ, select File > Save Project to save the PowerVIZ project.
  10. To close the window but keep the session running, click the X in the top, right corner of the window. To completely end the session, click Close Session.
  11. If you selected Close Session, select one of the following options in the confirmation dialog box:
    OptionDescription
Leave the session running on the cloud Allows you to rejoin the session later from the Sessions tab in Simulation Manager.
Stop the session and exit Stops any processes running in the session.
  12. Click the X in the top, right corner of the interactive window to close it.
    The interactive window closes.

Once you have visualized the results, you can postprocess the results and create content.
