What's New

This page describes recent changes in Connector for Abaqus/CAE.

R2022x GA

SOLIDWORKS Geometry Import Performance

Performance is improved when you import SOLIDWORKS geometry.
Connector for Abaqus/CAE uses a one-step conversion process to import SOLIDWORKS and SAT files from the platform. In previous releases, the import required an intermediate conversion.
Benefits: You will experience less wait time when importing SOLIDWORKS geometry.
For more information, see About the Download of Geometry from the 3DEXPERIENCE platform

Associating a Simulation with a Product on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform

You can associate a simulation with a product when you save the simulation to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
On the platform, you can view data dependency in the Relations app.

Benefits: Your Abaqus simulations are now more closely integrated with the source geometry stored on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
For more information, see Exploring Relationships Between Objects

Access to Common Commands

You can use a new dedicated toolbar to access frequently used commands.

The toolbar includes the following commands:

  • Open from 3DEXPERIENCE
  • Save to 3DEXPERIENCE
  • Import from 3DEXPERIENCE
  • Open 3DEXPERIENCE Dashboard
Benefits: You have quick access to common commands for Connector for Abaqus/CAE.

Saving Results to the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform

You can benefit from several enhancements when saving data to the platform.
When you save results to the platform:
  • You can indicate the main input file when more than one input file is included in the simulation data.
  • You can use a new toolbar and keyboard shortcuts for common actions (such as Select all, Select none) when you work with the list of files to upload.
Benefits: You have more options when saving data to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
