Results Analytics uses a 3DOrchestrate Station to operate on the data in a data set.

The 3DOrchestrate Distribution Server manages simulation process flows, job dispatching, distributed and parallel computing, and results processing. A 3DOrchestrate Station is a lightweight, standalone application that runs on individual computers on your network. 3DOrchestrate Stations register with the 3DOrchestrate Distribution Server to handle the execution of simulation work items. Results Analytics requires that you have a 3DOrchestrate Station available to open or create an analytics case and to operate on the data in the analytics case.

When you open an analytics case, Results Analytics communicates with a 3DOrchestrate Station and launches a servant that performs the computations and generates graphical representations of your data.

If you have used the Station preference to specify the 3DOrchestrate Station to use, Results Analytics searches for that station and issues an error if it cannot find the station. If you have not specified a Station preference, Results Analytics first checks for a 3DOrchestrate Station running on your system, which is called a localhost. If Results Analytics cannot find a local 3DOrchestrate Station, it uses the 3DOrchestrate Distribution Server to find a remote station. The name of the 3DOrchestrate Station on which the Results Analytics servant is installed is displayed in the lower-right corner of the window.

If the 3DOrchestrate Station requires login credentials from a Windows or Linux account, you must provide a valid user name and password combination. For more information, see Configuring Run-As Security in the 3DOrchestrate Administration Guide.

You can run Results Analytics from a 3DEXPERIENCE platform dashboard that is hosted on a cloud server. However, running an analytics case from a cloud server is supported on only a local, on-premises, 3DOrchestrate station.

Select Administration > Stations from the apps menu to see a list of the 3DOrchestrate Stations that are available to you and to see the status of each station.
