About Nominal Effect Plots

Nominal effect plots show the effect of inputs on a selected output parameter in an approximation.

Creating Nominal Effect Plots

Nominal effect plots are useful for measuring how sensitive an output parameter is to changes in input parameters in an approximation. Each line in the nominal effect plot represents an input parameter, and the corresponding value of the selected output parameter is measured on the Y-axis. A steeper line for the input parameter translates to a greater effect of the output parameter. If an input parameter has no effect on the selected output parameter, the line is flat.

You can alter the values for the input parameters from the Nominals panel to the left of the canvas. As you alter the input parameter values, the output parameters also change in the Nominals panel.

You can hide input parameter lines by clicking them from the legend in the upper right of the visualization.
