Sharing Recommended Alternatives

You can export the data points from each alternative that you placed in the basket to a text file. The text file can be read by other 3DEXPERIENCE apps; for example, it can be used to define the baseline design in a Process Composer optimization.

Share the Alternatives in the Basket to a Text File

You can export the data points from each alternative that you placed in the basket to a tab-separated values (.tsv) text file.

  1. From the bottom of the Recommend page, click Share .
  2. From the Share dialog box that appears, select Basket.
  3. From the list of formats, select TSV.
  4. Click OK.
    Results Analytics creates the file in the web browser's default downloads directory. The file contains the following:
    • A header row containing the name of each parameter
    • A row for each alternative in the basket containing the value of each parameter

Share the Alternatives as Requirement Parameters

You can map parameter values of a recommended alternative to Traceable Requirements Management parameter attributes. For example, you could map the Max Stress parameter of the recommended alternative to the Minimal Value attribute of a requirement parameter. In effect, you are cascading system requirements onto new subsystem requirements that you developed by analyzing the analytics case.

  1. Create a requirement with a parameter, as described in Creating a Requirement with Traceable Requirements Management.
  2. Drag the requirement to the Recommended view on the Results Analytics launch page.
  3. Click Guided Analytics to return to the case.
  4. From the bottom of the Recommend page, click Share .
  5. From the Share dialog box that appears, select Recommended Alternatives.
  6. From the list of formats, select Requirements.
  7. From the Export as Requirements dialog box that appears, do the following:
    1. Select the recommended alternative.
    2. Select the parameter from the recommended alternative that maps to the requirement.

      You can also click Automapping to allow Results Analytics to map parameters to all of the requirements based on their types and names.

    3. Select the requirement type—Target, Minimal Value, or Maximal Value.
      Results Analytics displays the new value of the requirement. (The previous value of the requirement is also displayed and is indicated with strikethrough text.)
  8. Click OK.
    Results Analytics updates the requirement.
