Test Results Capture

Test Results Capture is a dashboard app that you can use to:

• View test execution details.
• View test script and test step details.
• Set the status of each step, record the actual result, and link step result data.
• Capture the final status (pass or fail) of test executions.
• Create and modify test results.
• View and reference test results data.
• View and change the lifecycle maturity level of test executions.
• Set the test result status.

Test steps are part of the test script. You can view test steps details of a linked test script in the Review Test Execution pane. Test steps show up in the test results Details panel where you can set the status of each step, record the actual result, and link step result data.

You can also customize the test results with customer extensions. Customer extensions are specialization types or deployment extensions that provide additional attributes on-premises. For example, you can use specialization types to classify different types of test cases, such as validation tests and verification tests.

Typically, the test engineer is assigned a test execution task and captures the test results accordingly. When the test results are ready for review, the test engineer moves the test results from InWork to Frozen and moves the test execution to In Review. The project leader then confirms all conditions are satisfied and moves the test results from Frozen to Released.
