Complete Your Design Task

Make the update to the sprocket by launching a modeling app from the dashboard.

After making the design change and returning to the dashboard, you will update your team members by promoting your task to complete. For purposes of illustration, this process is simplified and may not be realistic.

  1. Click on Hand rail Sprocket that is open in Collaborative Lifecycle.
  2. From the Compass, select Part Design (or any preferred modeling app).
Opening the design app with the part selected opens Part Design in the native client with the model loaded.
  3. From the tree, change the Parameters > Input Parameters > No. of teeth to 45.

To enable parameters in the tree, see Setup.

  4. Save the part, and return to the Design tab of your workflow dashboard.
  5. Access your Design new component task in Project Planning to review the required task deliverables.
  6. Drag the updated part from Collaborative Lifecycle to the Deliverables section of the Design new component task.
Adding this file to the deliverables will allow Taylor Team Leader to view your final design.
  7. In the Comments tab of the task, add a comment that says "New design produced".
  8. Promote the task to Done.
Promoting your task notifies your team that you have completed the design task and are ready to start your validation task.
