Click Date Field
or select .
-
Click the card where you want to locate the date field.
-
From the Date Field Properties pane, select from Attribute name an attribute to store the date field value that users enter.
Alternatively, you can select an attribute from the Attributes dialog box. The dialog box appears when you click Attributes. It contains a table of the available attributes, their entry types, and default values.
- Select under Validation:
- A minimum validation date from the Min calendar.
- A maximum validation date from the Max calendar.
Min and Max date selection check boxes are only available if you select a date attribute, such as Approved Date or Constraint Date. You can choose either a Min or Max date or both dates. For example, for Approved Date, you could have a Min date of 1/2/2013 and no Max date.
- Optionally, select the following Flags check boxes:
- Read only to make the date box read-only so that users cannot change the value.
- Update all configurations to have the system update all file data card configuration tabs with the value users enter in the date field.
- Under Default value, select one of the following :
- Text value and type the default date.
Type your static text date in date format, for example, 1/3/2013.
Note:
This is the default option and the only available option for search cards.
- Click
to add a value from the menu tree, repeating the process until the Default value is complete. - Click
to add values in the Default Value dialog box by typing a default value formula or clicking
to select values from menu trees. (The Default Value dialog box provides a larger input area than Default value on the property pane.)
- Optionally, select the Default overwrites check box.
Selecting the check box means the selected value overwrites the existing attribute value whenever users copy or add files.
- Optionally, in Excluded configuration, type the names of configurations that are to be excluded as default values for the date field.
Exclusion occurs when files are added to the database or when the addition of a new configuration generates default values.
Type one configuration name in per line. You can use * as a wildcard. For example, *magnet* excludes all configurations with "magnet" in the configuration name.
Note:
The software does not exclude configurations if the user manually
generates values.
