Aligning and Sizing Data Card Controls

When you finish adding the controls to your customized data card, you can format it by aligning and sizing the controls.

Before you begin:
  • Complete the addition and deletion of all data controls.
  • Set the grid to display in all cards in the Card Editor.

Context: Aligning and sizing is a good way to improve your card's usability.

  1. Create a source control by moving one control to a desired location or sizing the control to a desired size, width, or height.
    For example, to align all the card's text boxes four pixel units from the left side of the card, move the source control four pixel units from the card's left side.
  2. Press Ctrl + select to select the controls to align with the source control.
  3. Click the appropriate align tool or select the alignment from the Align menu.

    Left
    Right
    Bottom
    Top
    Horizontal Center
    Vertical Center
    Same Width
    Same Height
    Same Size

  4. Repeat the previous steps until you are satisfied with the alignment and sizing of your controls on the card.

The card is appropriately formatted, thereby making it more useable for your users.
