The amount of information that Connector for SOLIDWORKS displays for a user name depends on how much information is entered on the server in the person's profile. For information about editing a person's profile, see the Collaboration and Approvals User's Guide.

The user name profile can include buttons to start a voice or chat session with the user if Microsoft Communicator 2007 R2 or Microsoft Lync 2010/2013 is installed on both the user's and your systems. For these buttons to work, the email address entered in the user's profile on the server must match the one in Communicator. The buttons do not work if you use a different alias.

The profile can also include phone numbers with clickable links when Microsoft software is installed. For this calling feature to work:

  • The user profile phone number on the server must be an MS supported format.
  • The user and you must have Communicator/Lync enabled.
For more information, see the Communicator/Lync documentation.
