About Managing Workspaces

Workspaces give you access to the documents you use in SOLIDWORKS. In Windows Explorer and in X-CAD Design Management, you can see the workspaces you have created and own and the workspaces you have been given access to.

Adding Workspace Images

You can access the 3DEXPERIENCE workspaces that contain your SOLIDWORKS files in two places:

  • In Windows Explorer

    When you are working in SOLIDWORKS, you can use the Manage 3DEXPERIENCE workspace command to open a Windows Explorer window with the focus on your local view of the files .

    When you are not working in SOLIDWORKS, you can open Windows Explorer and browse to the location of the local view of the files, which is indicated by the 3DEXPERIENCE icon .

    A login window appears if you are not already logged in to Connector for SOLIDWORKS.

  • In X-CAD Design Management.

    You can access X-CAD Design Management using the Explore in Web command when you select a file in Windows Explorer or when you are working on a file in SOLIDWORKS.

    A browser window appears with a login prompt.

    In X-CAD Design Management, the menu lets you navigate to your workspaces.
