Accessing Workspaces from SOLIDWORKS

When you are working in SOLIDWORKS, you can use the 3DEXPERIENCE CommandManager to access both Windows Explorer and X-CAD Design Management. This lets you manage workspaces, folders, and files, and view their properties within the ENOVIA database.

Manage 3DEXPERIENCE Workspace

The Manage 3DEXPERIENCE Workspace command lets you access your designs in Windows Explorer

  1. In the CommandManager, click Manage 3DEXPERIENCE Workspace.
    Windows Explorer opens to the workspace and folder containing the model you are editing.
  2. Use Windows Explorer to manage your designs.

Explore in Web

The Explore in Web command lets you manage your designs in X-CAD Design Management.

  1. In the CommandManager, click Explore in Web .
    A browser window opens with a login prompt.
  2. Enter your user credentials and, if prompted, select your 3DEXPERIENCE role.
  3. In X-CAD Design Management, use the 3DEXPERIENCE menu to navigate to your workspaces.

    For help working in X-CAD Design Management, click > Help on the top tool bar in X-CAD Design Management.
