Search Results

After you run a Search, the search results appear above the Search tab and below the 3DEXPERIENCE menu bar.

Search Result Column Options

Search results appear in table format and can contain these columns:

  • Name
  • Checked Out By
  • Iteration
  • Size
  • State
  • Date Modified
  • Checked Out In
  • Computer Name

To add or remove columns, right-click any column head and clear or select options. To expand the list of available options, click More.

For example, if you enable Search in all iterations in the search options, you can display the Iterations Found column, which lists the iteration and revision for all iterations of objects found in the database.

Send to Options

When you right-click a file returned by a search, options on the Send to submenu let you share the file.

Note: When you right-click a file, you also have additional file options available, such opening, printing, and checking in, or checking out.

My WorkOpens an Add Files dialog box to allow you to send a copy of the file to your My Work folder.

If you select an assembly or file with an associated drawing the Add Files dialog box automatically adds all the subsidiary files. If the file does not already exist in your local cache, the dialog box automatically selects the Get check boxes.

This option is unavailable if the file is already in My Work.

FolderOpens the Browse for Folder dialog box, where you can select the folder where the system is to send the file.

Search Result Menu Options

Right-click in the search results pane to access these options:

ViewDetermines how Connector for SOLIDWORKS displays the results and the Search tab. Available options are:
  • Preview Placement - To place the Search tab either:
    • To the Right
    • At the Bottom
  • Large Icons
  • Medium Icons
  • Medium Icons
  • List
  • Details
  • Tiles

Sort ByDetermines the column by which Connector for SOLIDWORKS sorts the results. Available options are:
  • By Name
  • By Owner
  • By Size
  • By State
  • By Modified
  • By Check Out Path.
RefreshRefreshes the results display.
Open File ListOpens the search results in the associated application (for example, Microsoft Excel).
Save File ListUse to save the results to a csv file. Opens a Save File List dialog box, where you save the results as a csv .txt file.
