In Windows Explorer, the Connector for SOLIDWORKS commands are divided into four menus for ease of use.

The tasks described are those that are specific to Connector for SOLIDWORKS.

Actions Menu

Check OutChecks out the file for editing.

Check InChecks the selected topics into the database.

Get Latest IterationDisplays the Get dialog box with the latest iteration of the selected file and its reference files.

Get Latest ReleasedDisplays the Get dialog box with the latest released iteration of the selected file and its reference files.

Get IterationDisplays a numbered list of previous iterations of the file for you to select from.

Undo Check out Cancels a checkout without saving changes.

PromotePromotes a file from one lifecycle state to the next. See Promoting Objects
BaselineCreates a baseline for the active document.

Increment Revision

Displays the Increment Revision dialog box, where you can change the revision of the selected file without checking the file out.

Copy StructureOpens a Copy Structure dialog box with two tabs:

Modify Menu



Cut

Copy

Paste

Pastes copied files or folders into the current folder.

Paste Shared

Pastes links to copied files or folders into the current folder.

The location of the files in the database continues to be the folder from which you copied them.

When you check out and edit linked files, the changes are made to the files in the database and any other linked instances.

Display Menu

HistoryDisplays history of file or folder.

PropertiesDisplays properties of selected file or folder.

Preview PlacementLets you change the location of the file view tabs from the bottom of the right pane (default) to the right side of the pane.
Detailed Tree View(In My Work folders only)

Toggles the display of files from a flat list to a detailed tree view.

Tools Menu

Clear Local Cache Removes the whole database view from Windows Explorer and all local cache files and folders. Check in all files and log out of the database before deleting the view.

Work Offline

Lets you work offline on files in your local cache when you are not connected to the database.

Card EditorOpens the Card Editor, where the administrator can customize cards.

SettingsOpens the Settings dialog box, where you can change the severity level of one or more warnings.
