Getting Latest Released

You can use the Get Latest Released command to copy from 3DEXPERIENCE server the latest released iteration of a selected file and any reference, or subordinate, files.

Context: When you use Get Latest Released, the system also retrieves the latest released iteration of the reference files.

Get Latest Released in SOLIDWORKS

You can get the latest released iteration of a file while you are in SOLIDWORKS even if that iteration is not in your local cache.

  1. With a file from 3DEXPERIENCE directory opened in SOLIDWORKS, in the CommandManager, click Get Latest Released.
  2. From the Get dialog box, select the Get check boxes for the files you want to retrieve.

    Tip: To select simultaneously all files not already in your local directory, from the Details view, select the Get check box at the top of the Get column.

    When a check box is inactive but appears selected, the system automatically retrieves the file when retrieving the referencing file (assembly). Your ability to individually select parts and subassemblies when retrieving the referencing assembly depends on your administrator's settings for Global Configuration Object (GCO) attributes.

  3. Click Get.

Connector for SOLIDWORKS copies the latest released revision of the selected file and its reference files from the database to your local working folder (cache), overwriting the iteration in your cache. The iterations information in the file window shows the iteration status in your local cache and in the database.

Get Latest Released in Windows Explorer

You can get the latest release iteration of a file while you are in the Windows Explorer view. Once you get the file, you can immediately open it SOLIDWORKS.

  1. From the Windows Explorer view of 3DEXPERIENCE, select the file.
  2. Click Action > Get Latest Released.
  3. From the Get dialog box, select the Get check boxes for the files you want to retrieve.

    Tip: To select simultaneously all files not already in your local directory, from the Details view, select the Get check box at the top of the Get column.
