Check in Files in Details View Mode
This task gives the steps for checking in files using the Details view mode of the Check In dialog box. To turn on this view, from the Check In toolbar, click View Mode and click Details.
- In the Check In column, select the files to check in.
To see a thumbnail of any file, click the file name. If the thumbnail fails to appear, from the toolbar, click Show Preview
.
After the first check-in, check-in of referenced files is controlled by the Global Configuration Object (GCO) attributes, SLW-CheckInPermitIncomplete and SLW-CheckInBlockRemoteReferences, which are set by the administrator. While the default settings do allow you to choose whether or not to include referenced files, your administrator can set these GCO attributes to require you to also check in the referenced files.
- You can also do one or more of the following:
- In the Keep Checked Out column, select files you want to keep checked out for further editing.
- In the Inc. Rev. column, select files whose revision you want to have incremented on check-in.
- In the Remove Local Copy column, select files for which you want to remove local copy of the file.
The system only allows selection of a Remove Local Copy check box when:
- You are checking in the file.
- You are also selecting to remove the local copy of the referencing file.
- You are checking in from SOLIDWORKS and have left unopened in the SOLIDWORKS session one or more reference files that you are excluding from the check-in.
The system applies the option when the file is checked into the server. - If this is the first check-in for the file, select the appropriate type from the Object Type list; otherwise continue with the next step.
You can instead, leave the default entry. The default is the first type in the list of types that your administrator made in X-CAD Design Management for the Global Configuration Object (GCO), MCADInteg-BusTypeMapping. If there is only one entry in the list of types, you must accept the default.
- Enter a comment to identify the iteration.
- Click Check in.
