Dragging and Dropping Files
- In My Work, create a folder for the files you want to add.

Navigate to the location of the files you want to add and select them.

Drag the files to the new folder.

In the Add Files dialog box,
ensure that the Add check box is selected for each file you want to add.
- Click Add.
Physical representations of the files are added to the My Work folder, with links to the original files. The files are displayed as a detailed tree view, with push pin icons to the right of the root items. -
To display a flat list of files, click
to clear the tree view.
Copying and Pasting Files
- In My Work, create a folder for the files you want to add.

Navigate to the location of the files you want to add.
- Select the files.
- Click Copy.
- In the My Work folder, right-click and do one of the following:
- To create links to files that are already in the database, click Paste Shared.
- To paste files without creating links, click Paste.

In the Add Files dialog box, ensure that the Add check box is selected for each file you want to add.
- Click Add.
Sending Search Results to My Work
- In My Work, create a folder for the files you want to add.
Physical representations of the files are added to the My Work folder, with links to the original files. The files are displayed as a detailed tree view, with push pin icons to the right of the root items. - Use the Search tab to enter search criteria and click Search to run the search.
- In the search results at the top of the right pane, select the files to add to My Work.
- Right-click and click .
- In the Browse for Folder dialog box, navigate to the My Work folder you created and click OK.

Saving a File from SOLIDWORKS
If you open a file in SOLIDWORKS and save it to My Work, an unlinked copy of the file and pointers to its references are added to My Work. Changes you make to this copy of the file are not saved back to the original file.
If you want to work from files in My Work and have your changes saved to the database, add the files to My Work using drag and drop, Copy and Paste Shared, or Search and Send to.
