Customizing the File View Column Display

You can customize the columns that display in the upper right pane in Windows Explorer when you are in the Details view mode.

Your customization is retained when you log out and log back in to the database. The settings are also specific to you and do not affect the list appearance for other users.

  1. Right-click any column head.

    A list of default columns appears.



    Checks indicate that a column is currently being displayed.

    Note: The columns displayed in the dialog box come from the DECConfiguUIMaster table on the server. Your administrator can extend the table to have the dialog box have more columns available for selection.

  2. Clear columns you no longer want to display.
    The user interface is refreshed to remove the cleared columns.
  3. For a list of additional columns, click More.

    The Choose Columns dialog box appears.



  4. Select the check boxes of columns you want to display.

    For example, if you want to be able to see the Object Name attribute for a file, you can scroll down and select Object Name.

    You can use the Shift or Ctrl keys to highlight multiple entries and click once to select them all.

  5. Click OK.
    The user interface is refreshed to show the new columns. New columns appear at the right of the file view pane.
  6. Change column order by selecting a column head and dragging it to a new location.
