Creating Cutouts

You can create cutouts, as well as mirroring and patterning them.

Create Cutouts

You can create a cutout in a shape using the Rectangle, Circle or Draw tool.

Before you begin: Create a shape.
  1. From the Model section of the action bar, click Fold/unfold .
    The part is unfolded.
  2. Click Rectangle .

    You can also choose the Circle or Draw tool, depending on the shape you want to create.

  3. Draw a rectangle on the shape.

    The cutout is automatically created.

  4. To go back to the folded view, click Fold/unfold .


Pattern Cutouts

You can pattern cutouts.

Before you begin: Create a cutout on the shape.
  1. Select the faces you want to pattern.
  2. In the context toolbar, click Pattern .
  3. Drag one of the arrows to the desired location.

    You can also enter a value in the ruler to define the distance between the two patterns.



  4. Enter a value in the Count box to define the number of patterns and click Enter.
    The lateral faces are patterned.
